Programma

The course aims to provide Master’s degree students with the essential tools to navigate the formal languages of Western works of art from the Middle Ages to the contemporary period, strengthening their expertise in stylistic analysis.
Particular attention will be devoted to developing the ability to interpret style as a key to understanding the artwork, as well as to fostering awareness of the role of attributions in defining the corpora of individual artists. Through lectures, group exercises, seminars, and site visits, students will be guided in developing a rigorous method for analyzing and interpreting works of art.
