The course “Forms and Styles of Journalistic Writing” aims to provide a critical understanding of the most common forms and styles of journalistic writing, such as investigative reporting, reportage, documentary, literary description, and cross-media storytelling. Within this framework, the course aims to provide: 1) an in-depth understanding of the most common forms of journalistic writing; 2) an analysis of several famous journalistic texts designed to demonstrate the importance of writing style; 3) an in-depth examination of a thematic case study capable of illustrating the relationship between form and style in relation to ways of representing reality.
The aim of the course is for participants to gain a general understanding of the forms of journalistic writing and to comprehend the importance of style as a cognitive category.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to assess the importance of the diversity of forms and styles of writing in effectively describing reality.
