The student of the Master’s degree course in “Religions, Cultures, History” (Class LM 64) has the opportunity to choose the double degree program in “Religions, Cultures, History / Religion in the Public Sphere”, in collaboration with the University Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz in Hannover.
Why choose a double degree program?
The double degree program is a highly qualified international training opportunity that allows participants to obtain a double master’s degree, one in their home country and another in the foreign university.
What are the characteristics of the double degree program?
The training path of the double degree is based on the Master’s degree in “Religions, Cultures, History” and therefore requires the student to achieve a total of 120 CFU / ECTS over two academic years and, during the two-year period, spend a semester at the partner University, where they must obtain a minimum of 30 CFU / ECTS (out of the total 120). The choice of courses to be taken at the host University is made with the assistance and supervision of the local coordinators of Roma Tre and those of the partner University.
At the end of their bi-national study program, students will prepare a master’s thesis in English under the supervision of a teacher from each University, but they can also choose Italian, with the advice of supervisors and local coordinators, as long as the final work is accompanied by a detailed summary in English. The supervisor of the host University will be invited to be part of the final exam committee, which will take place at Roma Tre.
What requirements are needed to apply for the double degree program?
Every year a Link identifier #identifier__187655-1call for application is published for the access to the double degree “Religions, cultures, history / Religion in the public sphere” (this year open from 23 May to 24 June 2024): applicants must meet the prerequisites for admission to the LM 64 in “Religions, Cultures, History” as outlined in articles 3-4 of the Regulation, in addition to having a C1 level of English proficiency, which must be obtained before departure if not already certified at the time of enrollment.
During the selection process, the students’ prerequisites will be checked and their motivation will be evaluated through an interview with a committee of teachers. Each year, only a maximum of 5 students will be accepted for admission.
What is the planned date for the overseas stay and what financial support options are accessible?
The time abroad is scheduled for the third semester of the two-year timeframe. Students pursuing this dual degree have the opportunity to request an Erasmus mobility scholarship for D HANNOVE01 – GOTTFRIED WILHELM LEIBNIZ UNIVERSITAT HANNOVER, where spots will be prioritized for students in the “Religions, Cultures, History / Religion in the Public Sphere” dual degree program.
