The double degree in European History is offered as part of the Master’s Degree program in History and Society – LM 84 (Curriculum in European History).
The curriculum, designed for a small number of students, aims to achieve a double degree in European History. It aims to cultivate a European-level cultural understanding, based on both general and specific knowledge of European history, as well as the foundational characteristics of Europe. This perspective is approached from an interdisciplinary standpoint, with a long-term focus.
The curriculum aims to provide a comprehensive and methodologically current preparation in the field of modern and contemporary European history, while also considering local histories and the broader European context. One distinctive aspect of the program, which adds value to the degree, is the dual validation of the degree upon completion by the student.
The degree earned will be acknowledged by our university for a Master’s degree in Italy and by the consortium universities for a valid degree in the chosen country.

The student must spend a minimum of one semester at the selected consortium university and complete a minimum of 30 CFU worth of courses in English. Attending lectures overseas will be a crucial component of the student’s academic program. The last thesis needs to be written and talked about in English. The final thesis, written in English, will delve into the themes and methodologies of the latest historiographical debate and European history, challenging students to develop an original research project.
