At the end of the course the student has:
The teaching of History of Ethics is part of the basic formative activities of the cds in Philosophy. The aim of the course is to acquire a knowledge of the history of ethics in both a historical and a theoretical perspective. At the end of the course the student will have acquired:
- critical thinking on some of the main themes of history and theory of moral thought;
- Language properties and argumentative skills in relation to the topics covered in the course.

Programma

This course will investigate how the major philosophical conceptions have dealt with the main moral problems. Such conceptions will be analyzed from both the historical and the theoretical points of view. In particular, we'll discuss the issue of the return of Aristotelianism and virtue ethics.
